No, not the game, but for real this time.

I started my military training the 6th of April this year, and I have been very busy since then, so I have not drawn much.

I am working on some new warbirds (modern ones this time), so please stay tuned.

Oh yes, 5000 pageviews reached, thanks guys for all who comment, watch me and view my work!

Book time! Wanna join?

Thu Feb 26, 2009, 10:16 AM
I have been thinking about creating a book for a long time. It will be about my aviation art, and about that from Raptorguy (look him up in my watchers list).

Now will we two create artwork for this book, this artwork will consist of only aircraft, without any background. WW2 fighters and bombers, and of course all modern stuff, from Awacs to Buccaneer. But, we need about 80 (!) good drawings in order to create a good book worth looking in, but for us two to create 80 drawings within a few month, that will never work. So, we need a third artist! So if you are very good at drawing aircraft, would like to see your art in an official book, join us!

Post some links of your stuff in this journal, and why you want to join us. You need to be committed, and be okay with the fact that you cannot upload any images you create for the book (well, VERY tiny ones only!). We will use about 2 drawings on each page, and our best drawings will cover one or two entire pages!

Together with the artwork comes some text about the aircraft, history etc. It will be a very interesting book, and we will even explain some of the techniques used to create these drawings.

I hope to hear from you.

Nick

PS< 4000 pageviews reached! Now lets up that amount! :D

Aviation related

Wed Feb 18, 2009, 7:48 AM
Journal time!

As all of you can see, I have been very busy drawing al sorts of aircraft lately. Very smooth ones, very rough ones, ugly and nice ones. This is all because I want to become an Aviation Artist, not only in pencil, but eventually also with painting.
I won’t draw many things that are not related to Aviation anymore (with some exceptions here and there), so if you are going to ‘watch’ me, please don’t expect more cars, animals, people etc.

So.. Having said this, I want you all to take a look at [link]. Ehangar is an Aviation Art related site, where artists and collectors of Aviation Art come together. So, if you love drawing airplanes as well, I would say sign up, and show your work to all of the masters that take a look at Ehangar.

Oh yes, I get huge amounts of note’s with just a few questions, I will answer them now.

Q: What are the materials you use?
A: I use 100grams smooth Skitzenblock paper, and 0,5 and 0,7 H and 3B pencils for almost all of my drawings. The size of the paper is almost always A4 (8’’x11’’;).

Q: How long does it take you to create a drawing?
A: Depends. Sometimes I am finished within 2 hours, and sometimes it takes up to 25 hours.

Q: How do you create that smooth shading?
A: Easy, draw slow and use short strokes, and then blend it with a tissue or with a blending stump (tortillion).
